There are two main clues that you should look for that indicate that it’s probably time to look at your burners.
The first symptom of burner problems is that your Silver isn’t getting as hot as it used to. This is typically caused by the gas ports on burner tubes getting plugged up with little particles. This can often be fixed with a simple cleaning. There is a video at the end of the post that shows you the right way to clean your burners.
The second symptom of burner problems is that your grill doesn’t heat as evenly as it used to. This is typically caused by a split burner tube which must be replaced as soon as possible.
If your burner tubes are completely shot, replacing them with new ones is extremely affordable and can be completed in under 15 minutes.
Here are Weber’s illustrated burner replacement instructions for the Silver grills. If you would rather watch a video on how to change your burners there is one at the end of this post.
